After 7 tests, Pujara averages close to 80. this obviously makes him the second best batsman ever, behind Bradman.
For all those CW friends of ours who like to bring up Barry Richards' name every time we select ATG test XIs just because he had one good series and a good FC record, this is a very good opportunity to shoo Pujara into the dream team's middle order ahead of viv, hammond, sobers, lara, g.chappell, tendulkar, ponting and 20 other giants who average only in the 50s.
for the rest of us, this is a good time to remind ourselves that a test cricketer's true worth should not be judged before he completes at least 5 years/40 tests (or 5 years/ 20 tests in case of pre WW2 cricketers). also a good time to remind ourselves that barry richards doesnt deserve to be bunched with hobbs, hutton, gavaskar, hayden, sutcliffe, trumper, greenidge....
