I completely stand by my call that today's pitch was not a road. There were many reasons why Australia produced such an amazing scoring rate over the course of the day.

I'm not going to suggest that the pitch wasn't a good pitch to bat on, but it wasn't a road, we just witnessed a terrific batting display on quite a small field by attack minded batsman against a weakened bowling unit short on confidence.
it is a road and i don't think it'll change for at least 2 more days.(at least on the SC roads the slowness often makes it hard to score runs quickly).
Even if saffers got bowled out for 300 it'd still prob be a conisdered a road coz it's more than likely that the 300 would be due to scoreboard pressure etc and not due to the pitch...

in contrast, gabba wasn't a raod. there was quite a bit in it for the bowlers

Mate if you wanted to make a list of cricketers who fall under the category "would have contained Australia more so than Tahir managed today", that's gonna be a long ****ing list.
I would've gone for more sixes but a similar run rate overall IMO. Think shortarse Jason Krejza.

How could anyone feel any pressure from the beautiful Adelaide scoreboard?

I just don't ****ing buy it. Good batting conditions don't represent 'road'. SA took five wickets from bowling full and surprise, surprise Clarke and Warner both said SA bowled too short. Its not rocket surgery that the pitch was a win the toss and bat first, but SA needed to frustrate the batsman a helluva lot more and bend their back more and show some skill (like Kallis did).

Fact is SA bowled 44.1 overs, for 0 wickets and 263 runs of filth.

But hang on a sec, how many different pitch types are their in everyone's opinion?

If its just lively pitch and road then yeah its a road, but if you have proper categories its not a ****ing road.

There was nothing there for the pace bowlers at all. A hint of swing, and Kallis did achieve that, but that's nothing to do with the pitch. About 4 balls moved off the straight all day and there was enough pace in the wicket for it to come onto the bat nicely, but not enough to cause problems.

It was hard to see if there was much spin there because Tahir rarely landed one on the pitch.

Oh there was spin, remember Tahir's first ball which beat the bat? Tahir bowled like that rubbish leg spinner Doran that QLD used to have.

There was only 42.4 overs of Test standard bowling and they took 5 wickets.

EDIT - as tumtum said..
