If only he got to face last 3 balls. My gut feel is he would have snatched it.Dhoni losing India his first limited over game?
So much hate. Why exactly, I fail to understandGet in.
So great to see Dhoni's ****ing ****ty ponderous crap innings cost his team the match, instead of the usual turd about how he guided his team home when somebody served up a load of **** at the death when he let the equation get out of control.
Get in.

Nah, he does it regularly and makes chases that are pretty much a formality into ones that can be lost in a 1-2 over shootout.
1 game in about 250 limited overs games. We will take his one ****ty innings out of 250 gladly.
This was a poorly managed chase but it's ridiculous saying Dhoni has been lucky to be winning run chases with his batting thus far.Nah, he does it regularly and makes chases that are pretty much a formality into ones that can be lost in a 1-2 over shootout.
They needed 7 an over when he came in, with 7 wickets in hand and 7 overs left. Yuvraj was going well at the other end, there is no reason at all to turn that into needing 10-12 an over. It is criminal to fall short like that when you lose 4 wickets in an innings and one of those was in the last over.
Unfortunately people are too dumb to recognise when it's the wrong strategy because they only look at the result. If you wilfully give the opposition a 20% chance of winning instead of a 5% chance then it's poor whatever the end result is. This time Dhoni's luck ran out.
It has nothing to do with luck. Maybe situations like that are when he really feels comfortable in a weird way. Its not like he has done done this 5 times now. It was always dangerous and it served him well so far. This was bound to happen sooner or later. As long as it doesn't become a regular occurrence there is nothing to be worried about. And he also faced only 3 balls in the last over. Honestly think he could have finished it if he stayed on strike till the end.Nah, he does it regularly and makes chases that are pretty much a formality into ones that can be lost in a 1-2 over shootout.

Guess, it's more than that. There's a reason why Dhoni doesn't have a T20 record comparable to ODI record. In T20s, he can't afford to pace his innings in the same way he does in 50 over games. In ODIs though, we can't judge the tactics by anything but the result. Sure it's likely that on one of the unfavourable days he can't win it, but on most other days he does. Think it's easy to say that he should accelerate sooner but there is an element of risk in it that he can get out. And we have no way to estimate how many fewer games we will win because he gets out while accelerating vis-a-vis how many games he would win because the RRR doesn't climb.I agree with Scaly that we usually look @ the result and not the strategy. Its MSD's batting tactics which cost us this game, thats for sure.
Though I was confident that he would do it even if gets one ball to face.
His domestic T20 record is good. He bats at 4 for CSK and ant 5 or 6 for India. He should bat higher up the order to be of more use to the team. Scored 16 runs off the final over of a game against Punjab one time and put his team in the final. Just needs to spend more time in the middle before hitting out and he should be fine.Guess, it's more than that. There's a reason why Dhoni doesn't have a T20 record comparable to ODI record.
