Yuvi's back way too early. Should have played decent amount of domestic cricket first
I disagree. For T20, the only effective warm up can be T20. Nets are just as useful as a domestic OD or First Class fixture, imo when preparing for T20.

A team of professionals evaluated his fitness before clearing him. He can't be in terrible shape.

He is back from a serious illness, IMO his body needs some more time to get back to shape enough to withstand the rigors of international cricket, even if it is T20.

Could have played domestic limited overs matches before coming back to the side.

Weather looks good for the second T20 - NZ batting first so I might stay up and see what sort of total we can manage.

He's got awesome power - at least on the leg side - he has hit many a six. Just lacks the ability to tick it over for singles because he is one dimensional - he would be less suited to ODIs in my opinion. If I were the NZ coaches I would consider him a real prospect and I would be working on his cover drive and square drive day and night until he is competent.
Greg Chappell and Amla (iirc) could barely play an off side shot when they first played international cricket

However, both had the ability to stay in and they eventually developed strengths all round the wicket

If this bloke is just a whacker with no defence, then he has no business at the top level

I've seen Rob Nicol play once. He smashed 100+ runs against NL (in Amsterdam) for Somethingshire in the CB40. I guess that indeed is a different cup of tea :) .

Latham's power shot is fetching it off one knee for sure (pretty much what NZ usually wanted from him against Zimbabwe), but his domestic wagon wheel (whole season, all formats) looked fine.

Lol Yuvraj looks fat even after all the cancer induced weight loss. Has gotten even fatter since the world cup if anything.

Four overs to go; we should get at least 160 from here. Would never put it past us to **** it up royally though.

OTOH, if these two stay in, we're every chance of 180.

To be fair they stuff you full of milkshake type things to keep your weight up I've tried them, they taste vile.

Kiwis can be happy with this so far.
