Patel is bowling exceptionally well for a spinner facing the Indian batting lineup. Spinners from other teams get usually get slaughtered here

Pujara would be Dravid V2.0 if he just batted at a slower strike rate and played a lot of backfoot defensive shots.:p

On a side note, seeing some comment on cricinfo, is this more the sort of pitch that wouldn't have visiting sides cry "doctored"?

I know this is meant to be some kind of sad running jinx thing around these parts but damn if it doesn't get old in a hurry. 8 wickets, day and a half, 100 to get....
You were not a Indian cricket fan/follower in the 90s? You wouldn't understand if so.

How is it a jinx? Rain halts play with India building momentum, of course its an advantage for the kiwis. I didnt say it was a huge advantage which can alter the match result, but with 3 fours in the over and these two adding 64, it always helps for the fielding side to regroup in the dressing room and come up with a better strategy.

well times have changed, and we haven't lost chasing in India in the recent past, to the best of my knowledge. Having Kohli and Pujara in the middle order now is somewhat reassuring if anything..not that there is a large sample pool to base confidence in their abilities, but I reckon we'll do well.

it would be advantage NZ if we were 4-5 down and the two guys at the crease had just started stringing together a decent partnership. We're only 2 down!

You constantly have your hopes crushed in your childhood and you are scarred for life.:p

I think that's the game - that missed stumping.
Can't summon up the energy to berate McCullum - when he is the fill in keeper what do you expect I guess.

Sucks for us KVW got hurt. Cricinfo before the start of the day said he was a great replacement.

I am sure he feels gutted. Maybe he can redeem himself somehow.

Let's hope we can wrap this up. 2-0 victory will be valuable to the confidence in the 'new' Indian middle order.
