Great to see Trotty in early, the entire innings to be a grind now, think I'll watch the football.

Despite posting a reasonably competitive total here, SA's batting lineup looks pretty ordinary and short without Kallis

Elgar @ No.6 doesnt make any sense to me.
Or at 3. He and McLaren shouldn't be in the side. Albie as a batter is better than Elgar and bowling while more expensive is liable to get more wickets than McLaren. David Miller to return, looks like he had a decent county stint.

I think the England boys feel free-hits are unsporting, so don't like to score from them.

Looks fairly easy ATM, Saffies managing to look a bowler and a batsman short, which used to be an old English trait. Kallis such a huge miss for them, but he can't go on forever.

Three terrible wickets for one day cricket. Amla, Morgan and a few brief Bell cameo asides, doesn't seem like anyone can time the ball. Just makes for boring cricket.

Not that much wrong with this wicket really, got more pace to it. Saffies have just been remarkably average with bat and ball apart from Steyn and Amla.

A really poor performance from South Africa for the second game running. Unless Amla or AB get a 100, you just know they will end up well under a par score. How Elgar has made this side, I'll just never know. Batting at a strike rate of 60 just isn't acceptable these days, he seems to have no release shots, no aggression and no versatility to his game. He just comes in at crucial stages, completely slows down any momentum that was building up and then gets out. I hope we play Ontong for the last game and long-term, someone like Miller is far better suited to the limited overs format than guys like Elgar scratching around for a 25 off 50 balls.

Also, the bowling looks threadbare. Unless Steyn (or Morkel) get the top order out early, the game is pretty much over. The rest of the bowling is just there for containing and you cannot contain a sub-par total. Tsotsobe has been ridiculously poor in this series, you would never have thought he was averaging anywhere near 20 with the ball.

Why's Tahir not playing, is decent in list A, and done well in his embrionic ODI career. Would have spun it miles in these last two matches.

Oh and while I'm asking stupid questions What's worse, elgars batting or bowling?
