Taylor's aerodynamic helmet will ensure he get back to the dressing room quicker.

I know he's not out but I just thought of that and wanted to use it ASAP. Just cop it and move on.
 laughed so hard at this

Philander's skyrocketing in my eyes once again. What a superb bowler.

Vernon 'bad series' Philander watch: 10 wickets @ 26.7

Best average for any bowler of either side with more than five wickets. Hope cricinfo and the haters are tasting it.
So what you're saying is KP has been the bowler of the series

The England management are cretins. Simple as that. Perhaps it was frustrations such as this which were making Pietersen so disgruntled behind the scenes? Bell wasted 40 balls doing sweet FA. Totally predictably. He has never ever done anything positive in a situation like this except eat up valuable time and then get out caught in the slips. I predicted that this would happen yesterday. Surprise surprise, he does the same again.

Meanwhile young thrusters who will at least play their shots in an attempt to win England the game are kept waiting in the hutch while a pretender who has proven time and again that he's not got what it takes wastes everyone's time yet again. By the time Bairstow and Prior get in it will probably be too late. How was having Bell and Trott in together at the same time ever going to help England win the match and retain their no. 1 ranking? Management should have been ensuring that they have complementary batsmen batting in tandem throughout the day - an accumulator and a strokeplayer.

Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I've even more respect for his intellect given that he came up with that having never seen the current England XI play Test cricket.

Trott has been absolutely terrible this morning - nervous, not playing his natural dame or just out of form?

The time to attack the bowling isn't on a murky morning when you're restarting your innings and the ball is still on the new side. This stuff about I'd rather they go down swinging etc. - that doesn't mean you can't just bat sensibly and then pick things up against the old ball.

Is there a rule somewhere stating English batsman aren't allowed to use their ****ing brain.

Was that actually Einstein? There are a heap of quotes attributed to him that were never actually said by him or were completely changed for their popular quotable form, I think that's one of them.

Missed first session and a half of yesterday, admittedly, but wasn't get much on day one. Looked well down on pace too.

Short of injury I fully expect Kallis to take more wickets this series. He's a genuinely quality performer in English conditions.
Even on day 1 Philander was getting movement. He was unlucky not to pick Trott up early. The point is that the conditions haven't changed as much as what some posters wish to make out.

Willing to have a signature bet re: the Kallis/Philander issue though.
Sig bets are for jibbers, tbh. Avatar or nothing is the way of the gentleman.
Brumbeh lucky that he's a ***** and wouldn't take on this sig bet.

Yes I agree that that innings was in a delicate posiition, in hindsight England caned India in that match, but you're right, at the time it was a good innings.

I should say again that I think hes a good player, it's just when good attacks come round he seems to drop off more than most others, say compared to Pietersen and Trott or even Cook. A lot of centuries have come when the damage has already been done.
What's the point of even discussing Bell with the Pollyanna crew? In fact although you're a good poster I'm surprised you haven't been more open-minded and added a signature acknowledging Bell as the world's best batsmen - with appropriate qualifications about pitch conditions, strength of opposition bowling attack, match situation etc as a nod to dissenters like me. That alone would entitle you to cast aspersions on his abilities.

Seriously, what is the point of **** like this? Your posts are a decent read when you just state your opinions without being all high and mighty and ****.
