They chucked out Colly the instant they thought he was past it. Strauss has been shot for a long enough time now, it's about time they did the right thing for the team. I mean did anyone seriously expect him to make any runs today or any other time?

Given the way they've mercilessly dropped other players and shafted guys like Onions they're making complete hypocrites of themselves the way they're backing Strauss. It is costing us Test matches and series.

So come on the brain of Britain who do we replace Strauss with as opener? Not as though we have many options is it?

Colly retired before they dropped him, Onions may be unlucky but it isn't as though we are short of bowling options. If you want to talk of an unlucky bowler look at Bicknell in the 90's when we were a crap side and he still never got picked.

They're the type of balls he was putting away 18 months or so ago. Plainly down on form. Although that was a good change up, that shot is his bread and butter.

are you on with an agency? if so wait a couple of weeks before collecting, I did that, albeit accidentally, collecting on a bet that had dead-heated. Because it was from a while back, the payout didn't come up on the screen, so they looked at the ticket, which had the full winning payout printed on it. got paid the full winning. worth a shot.

Nah. When you're talking about a bowler's entire career then the idea that they might've been particularly lucky or unlucky across it is not only highly unlikely but also irrelevant as you are no longer trying to push it through with a prediction, but it's both very possible and very relevant when you're just talking about day's play or an innings.

The thing with Anderson to the left handers is that he was getting a fair bit of movement away from them and he was bowling for the edge. If they weren't playing at him then that's when you can say he was bowling too wide, but they were drawn into shots anyway because of where the ball was starting. If anything he could've bowled a touch fuller at times to catch the edge more, but I don't think he was ever consistently too wide, and I watched every ball.
