A chicken coup imo.

Although obviously a huge positive, making larger profits because of a player's presence does not imply that his skills will improve the quality of the game.No it wouldn't at all. So many people would rather watch Bolt as an overseas player ahead of Dernbach or Mahmood and we'd probably be able to get more money from International broadcasters as I'm sure everyone from the Caribbean and other areas would tune in.
I bolded the key words. The teams will not all be extremely high-class, look at some of the participants from last year.Although obviously a huge positive, making larger profits because of a player's presence does not imply that his skills will improve the quality of the game.
Sure Bolt would be a huge drawcard, but if the BBL is trying to take itself seriously and ensure that the teams are all extremely high-class outfits instead of being 'celebrity squads', then him playing may damage the credibility of the league
yep...awtaI bolded the key words. The teams will not all be extremely high-class, look at some of the participants from last year.
Also, I don't see the problem with selecting 87 of the best possible players and bringing in the hottest, most recognisable olympic athlete in the world today. Its only T20, no need for such credibility.
awtaHe could play as a bowler? Bat at 11? It's a gimmick, sure, but the whole format is just that. Why not raise the profile of the game at large while you're at it?
Seriously? He looked like a club medium-quick at best, the ball was short and kept low. @ 0:34There's footage online of him clean bowling Chris Gayle in some sort of match in the WIs. He looked quick.
Go out to bat at 11, wearing a helmet, thigh pad, gloves, pads, box, chest guard, inner thigh guard, arm guard. Wont get seriously hurt. I'd do it, and I play local 3rd grade cricket. Probably only have to face Xavier Doherty or James Hopes.
