Really I don't understand why people are in such a rush to lay out excuses for SA should they lose. They should win, or at least draw. If they win, they'll be ranked #1 and deservedly so, as they have been, thus far, easily the better team of the two.

But people have made excuses for SA for way too long - I said this before Jo'burg last year as well - and it's time they put up or shut up, frankly.

How is this an argument? Is your team trying to win games of cricket or win forum arguments?
Where are you getting this from? People were giving their opinion, not drumming anything into you ffs.
Oh come you know fair well what is said on these forums ffs. Now that these wild and baseless predictions arent coming to fruition the old underachieving card comes out. Talk about shifting the goal posts.

Deadset how much cricket do you actually watch? Do you not understand the concept of people reevaluating how good teams actually are during the series when people have had the opportunity to watch them play?

With all Englands resources they should be dominating more than South Africa.

I don't care about infrastructure or any of that **** when rating teams. I care about the XI on the park. And more importantly, how many series they win.

Again, I'll repeat, if SA blow it at Lord's, they won't go home thinking how much better than expectation they performed. It'll be the opposite.
I think they will be disappointed that they didn't close out the series but they can be satisfied that they were equal to the no1 in the world. I think they would have taken a 1-1 result before the series started.

The thing is that England were absolute favorites and SA have no business being 1 up in the series, given how good England are at home and the balance of their team. It's credit to SA for having performed the way they have.

Nah, they wouldn't. Look at the comments made before the series. They were here to win. Steyn even said that they were already #1, and they would prove it. They've certainly come a long way to doing so. While it's unquestionable that England's bowling in particular has been way below their best, SA have played some outstanding cricket thus far.

Actually people don't give them excuses and they don't even analyses why they lost when they lose. They just call them chockers. They give excuses for other teams. Other teams have chocked so many times but have people called them chockers? No because people give excuses there were injuries, team spirit missing, they were complacent etc.

I watch a lot actually. Thats why I was bemused at these wild predictions. I thought we could at least win a game with the limited resources we have and our decent away record. Even I didnt expect the first tests victory margin though.

No I don't. Please enlighten me.
There are plenty on this forum

Yep my poor Proteas get labelled chokers faster than Usain Bolt runs a 100. But if any other team does it well just bad luck or cant play spin all of a sudden.

Are you suggesting they're white on the inside? :@

Unacceptable.

I assume that if Strauss, as a co-selector had wanted KP to play he'd have been in, and he isn't - so despite the "good luck" messages it's hard to see a way back for him ITFF.

(new acronym? will it catch on?)
