What an awesome days cricket, mainly down to KP and also with the support of Taylor. Played some shots I haven't seen too many times before and smashed the SA attack around like schoolboys, crazy day.

Oh well I guess if your surname is Pietersen or Petersen you should go to the casino or buy a lottery ticket.

Pretty self-explanitory I'd have thought. I'm of the opinion he's, um, a bit large.
He's changed his body shape massively even these last few years, when he first came up he was well chubby. If anything he's bulked up too much since he got injured, hit the weights a bit too much. Watched him early in the season warm up for Yorkshire and he changed tops, took me by surprise how much he's changed.

Granted I only saw the C5 highlights, but KP's knock was unbelievably good - one of his finest, without question. And his assault on Steyn was as thrilling a passage of cricket as you could wish to see. Probably went OTT in trying to decapitate him though.

And a terrifically composed debut innings from Taylor. I thought his foot movement against Tahir boded especially well for the India tour.

Pietersen is the best batsman in the England side by so far it isn't funny. Always laugh at the calls for his dropping on here by the abacus-crunchers who have a greater feel for their calculator than they do the game of cricket. He's the only player in the top six who can play pace and spin with equal alacrity, and pretenders like Strauss, Bell, Trott et al only wish they had his stroke making ability. Cook's an accumulator but he's not in Pietersen's class as an all wicket player of pace and spin.

Waiting on a spreadsheet to counter this argument, of course.

Couldn't agree more.

Remarkable turnaround and innings from KP. One thing hitting a hundred but the speed of it means it is game on, especially if Morne Morkel might need to open the batting again. Weather forecast looks a bit dodgy for today mind.

KP's knock a great example of how sometimes it's not how many but how. This knock and how he's gone about it destroyed all of SA's 'plans', thoroughly changed the momentum of the match and is in with a good chance of doing the same for the series.

SA need a big re-think; not of how/where to bowl to the English bats but how to react when one bloke is coming hard at them. When your plans are either 'full a foot outside off' or 'bouncergasm' and nothing in between, some bloke who is going to take advantage of the fact you can't change gears quickly enough.

I just saw the front foot flick through mid wicket he played off Steyn. He marched down the wicket like he was a 60mph pie bowler. Then followed it up with the straight six.

When he's on form there is just no one better to watch.

If the weather holds and KP is still in at lunch time you can see the Saffa's wilting through day 5.
