I disagree. There's no skill in bidding $1 more than your nearest rival in a silent auction - it's [almost] pure luck.

You don't do that though as you don't know what anyone else is bidding.

Don't be so sure. Some other 'notable' players remaining are Ian Botham, Andy Roberts, WG Grace, George Lohmann, Martin Crowe, Vijay Merchant, Kumar Ranjitsinhji, Fred Spofforth, Harold Larwood.

It won't be any of them. Jager perhaps knows who the last player is going to be.
