meh, pick any dates of the last century and there'll be war or recessions around the corner or before, particularly loose on the first one.

Have loved this enormously. But the whole quasi-religious claptrap (holy torch, Olympic Flag, Olympic Anthem, Olympic Oaths from competitors, officials and coaches ffs) can **** right off.

And speak in English, please. No-one speaks French outside France and its second-rate former empire.
