This is madness Sammy, one ball of Roach to Martin and it's over, and I doubt Bracewell would have done that to Roach either.

Yeah he's always been known as an allrounder through the junior ranks. Ian Smith maintains he has more batting ability than bowling ability and he's batted as high as seven for CD. Scored a stack of runs in the Emerging Players tournament that originally got him selected internationally as well.
Heard a lot about his batting (obv) but this is the first time I've really seen anything more encouraging than a decent back defence; looks really assured at the moment. Easy to see why he's expected to develop into an allrounder.

This must be one of the higher partnerships featuring Martin, mustn't it?
There's been a few I can think of that are probably higher (cbf checking) - with Southee vs England (Southee's debut), and also with Oram vs Australia in about 2005.

Sammy off. If he'd continued here he might've actually got sacked on the spot.
And straight away Rampaul takes the wicket.

Sammy cops a lot of unjustified crap but he should've been out of the attack ages ago and the decision to bowl that last over he did was clearly a selfish act. No other way to view it really. So poor.

Bugger. Good little knock though.

Now, interesting to see how Wagner goes. Not expecting much swing early on tbh, though hopefully it will reverse for him later on.

Ah yeah, I remember Southee thrashing us about. I thought he'd be a decent all-rounder, shows what I know:shy:

Bracewell has saved NZ a little embarrassment. I still think that score is a little light.

Looking forward to seeing Wagner bowl.
