If I get my predictions right, I'm screwed LMS-wise for the final, so wouldn't mind Waikato getting up, tbh.

I am waiting a couple of more days to make my predictions as I want to read a couple more articles on Thursday and Friday.

LMS Stormers

Stormers are at home are undefeated at home this season. In addition although they are missing their number 7 which will hurt them they have Bekker and he is worth 2 or 3 people. Not sure why he is not a Springbok.

TBH despite tipping the Chiefs I'd be putting money on the Crusaders.

Think they are the only team that can stop the Stormers from winning it in Cape Town tbh.

well the good guys got it done - despite their poor front row - against the Crusaders. That puts me one point behind you - all you have to do is pick the same picks as me next week and you will win. My best bet is to wait until you post your pick for the final first.

Alternatively I could just gamble on you trying to pick the winner and not picking strategically.
I think you know who I will be backing in the final anyway.

Great game. My goodness the Chiefs had some passengers - our number 8 and 13 were pathetic. Our captain wasn't much chop. And why our front row got manhandled is beyond me. They have been fine in other games.

Kerr Barlow was a machine. And he has grown so much since last year. He just does his job now and doesn't try to make a studly play every time. He was a strength out there. Well done to the Coach for developing him this year because he was god awful last year.

Rettalick was a strength. And they had trouble with moneybill.

Waikato brought some chippiness into the game. But that was to let Canterbury know that the game was being played in the TRON and that we meant business.

Moooolooooo forever.

haha, the sharks.... I guess this means the final moves to NZ.
Yip, final's in Waikato. Pity the poor Sharks, who have to travel halfway around the world once again. Given several of their squad should make the Springboks squad for the Rugby Championship, they'll have endured five flights from South Africa to Australia/New Zealand in the last 12 months alone (counting the RWC).

Capped over 20 times since 2008. Would be the incumbent lock but is always injured.

People backed the Stormers is a must win game?

Though the Sharks have been in the final of every Super Rugby name change/format revise and never won one.

If the Stormers hadn't thrown away their home final, I'd have picked them even if you were tipping the Chiefs. As it stands, I can't see the Sharks winning three away knockout matches on the trot so doubt I'll be backing them.

TKB's had a great year. Nice to see such depth at halfback to replace Cowan/Ellis/Weepu. I thought TKB and TJ Perenara both might be a little unhappy to have missed a spot in the ABs for the Irish tests, and now that Perenara's injured I'd imagine TKB's the third choice halfback at the very worst. Retallick's had a great season, fully agree.

Your outside centre, Andrew Horrell, had a quieter match but was still pretty solid. Hes actually really impressed me this season and even managed to keep Robinson out of the side for a few weeks. Kane Thompson looked like he was just trying to start as many fights as he could, as did your front row.

Super Rugby final:
Chiefs vs Sharks

Picks need to be by 7.30pm NZT on 4 August. A correct tip is worth three points. Hurricane and I will take the top two spots regardless of what happens, but if Hurricane tips against me might steal the gold. Brumby the favourite for the bronze but an incorrect tip and he too might find himself thrown from the podium.

In the LMS, my tactic of going against the team I'd backed in the tipping competition worked. It means both Ripper and I must pick the Sharks but that we'll share the title regardless - I'd rather call the LMS now than wait until next season to finish it!

Do I get bonuses for spotting the deliberate error?
