**Official** South Africa in England 2012

I haven't seen any of this match so far (just heard radio commentary) sounds like this pitch is a batsman's paradise of the highest order. Is there nothing in it at all?
A bit of turn, noting dramatic so far though. Plus the odd ball is keeping a bit low.

But it is not far from being the road to end all roads imo.

Edit: A liitle away swing for Steyn too - and Trott follow it to give the keeper catching practice. For crying out loud!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trott donated his wicket in almost identical fashion to the way he did in the first innings - just a difference of 70 or so runs.

It's doing the tiniest bit with the new ball, can't say more than that, just crap batting again. still haven't learned

It's something that's crept into Trott's game the past 12 months, is he's playing at far too much outside off stump that he was leaving before.

Amla left deliveries like that one.

Perhaps the now almost inevitable thrashing will lead to something approaching reality in some sections of the English support. A bloke I was chatting with was typical of the delusional mentality - the three nil defeat in UAE didn't count because it wasn't English conditions and they had someone who actually had the temerity to spin the ball, the SA total in this test didn't count because it's a road, I forget why the 1st test in SL didn't count, but probably because it was in Asia, no awareness of the fact that apart from the series against Aus & India our batting has been ropey way too often when there's any sort of challenge. etc, etc, etc. Whilst this doesn't definitively make us a poor team, there might perhaps be some awareness that we have spend much of 2012 playing extremely poorly. Given the itinery between now and the end of the year, 2012 could quite possibly see the highest number of test defeats in a calendar year ever achieved by and English cricket team.

Errr yes, in general the ball isn't doing very much at all, I said before there's a bit of seam and a tiny amount of swing.

Can't beat some positivity, just as bad as those who hype the team up too much tbh.

It's just the right amount. It's exactly what Anderson was doing in Australia, wasn't getting it to go around corners but just getting it to go half a bat width and slightly change the line.

More threatening than swinging it around corners, ITBT.
