That swung then moved off the seam a fair bit, cracking ball

These 2 so far have been jaffa machines.

Australia starting here much the same as they did in Chester-le-Street.

A sign of things to come?.....................

The thing is though the times he has played a test match the past year or so he hasn't bowled as well as the guy he's trying to replace, personally think he's been trying a bit too hard.

Well if his performances with the new white ball in this series don't make him just about the first name on the sheet for the SA tests, then the selectors want publicly flogging.
I take it you'd drop Bresnan then, or go with five bowlers? They can't all play.

Finn has everything you'd ever want in a strike bowler.

May not be a popular opinion but he is easily superior to Bresnan as a bowler

Yes, Bresnan is not the same bowler he was before his injury. I think he needs some time back in the county game to groove his action again.

Good form in one-day cricket should not IMO automatically lead to Test selection.

Neil Fairbrother, just shown on TV, was probably England's best ODI batsman in the mid-1990s but couldn't get near the Test side.

Having said that I don't think Finn's selection would make us weaker.

If he can do this with a white Kookaburra, think what he can do with a brand new Duke ball!

Jimmy's bowling pretty well tonight, too.

Yeah it was going away to his left, but having got both hands on it he'd have expected to cling on. Certainly seen him take harder chances.
