good argument, well made. You seem a spiffing chap, I'm sure we'll get on famously.....

Don't oppose batting allrounders per se (pluralisation?), only in the case of this team - they're fine when you've got a top class upper order.I refuse to believe amanuensis only has 121 posts because he's made at least 1,000 posts in the last week or so about how he doesn't believe in batting allrounders in ODIs
Well I'd prefer to go in with those 2 rather than Tredwell. Also think you're being unfair on Patel he's a decent player and far from rubbish in this form of the game and his bowling average is far better than Tredwell's 28 to 32.No thanks - no more "bits & pieces" rubbish please. If they're going to go in with that top four (ie. a tad pedestrian), then taking wickets is paramount.
1) Bopara is a patchy performer & a dozy tw*t - I'd happily discard him.Well I'd prefer to go in with those 2 rather than Tredwell. I wouldn't say Cook since his return as been anything close to a tad pedestrian, striking at nearly a run a ball. Bell's shown he can score quick if need be, even Ravi did it last game.
We're talking ODIs here & I'm not just talking about Australia - can you see him averaging 50+ at a strike rate of 90+ over the course of this series & the next one against the Saffers? The Australian's have an attack which the aforementioned Gloucestershireman took apart on their home ground, Lee's got the experience of age but lets be honest only McKay has looked like he was troubling him thus far.
Y'know a big part of me (the masochist) wanted to see that happen.Gutted that the game was cancelled, because if it wasn't, when England beat Australia 5-0, they'd have made the number 1 ranking in ODIs.
That would complete the set as well, with England being ranked number 1 in all three formats, the first team ever to do so, meaning they must be the best team of all time.
I've only just realised Weeman is a pom.
He's plummeted in my estimations.
There's some ridiculously heavy squall moving through the North right now, according to my impeccable sources in the region. It might be OK weatherwise for the game at Chester-le-Street. All depends on how much rain has fallen today and how much falls tomorrow. At the moment it looks like Saturday should be dry and fairly bright if not sunny!
Sunshine in the North-East? What will they think of next?
Too late to put a roof on the stadium? Could move a few events to Centre Court I suppose.Honestly, you ****s are kidding yourselves with this weather. It'll be the first modern Olympiad to be washed out.
****ing dire.
