**Official** Pakistan in Sri Lanka 2012

Yeah, has mind-numbing draw all over it, this one.
Unless Ajmal can do something. But expect Sri Lanka to bat for a long time also, Dilshan may get careless and Paranavitana rarely makes big scores, but the annoying thing for the opposition with Sri Lanka's big 3 is that if they get a flat pitch they play extremely conservatively, knowing that they cant get out unless they play a bad shot.

I have seen matches where Sangakkara and Jayawardene rack up the runs, eventually one of them is dismissed and Samaraweera comes in. Samaraweera is not the type of batsman who thinks "it's 400-3 let's just go for quick runs and slog it up in the air", he will actually bat properly, play himself in slowly and grind the opposition down further in a risk free fashion. It can be completely soul destroying for the opposition.

Whereas with someone like Pietersen in that situation, he would either get out playing a careless shot or if he destroys the opposition he will provide entertainment, while always making the fielding team feel they can get him out. Somehow the Samaraweera way of torture seems worse than the Pietersen way, both for the opposition and spectators.

Seriously someone should just go grab a rake on the morning before SSC tests and have merry out on the pitch.

awesome comment on cricinfo

"Aadil: "Many people do not understand the nature of the one and only Sinhalese Sports Club. This is not merely a batting pitch, but where batting originated from, where runs themselves were created. No man has ever marked his crease at the SSC and left the Test without 'form'. It is the place where batsman's caraeers begin, and where bowlers careers ends. Averages are inflated, both batting and bowling, and records are broken. On SSC, as a rule of thumb, for every run that is scored, divide it by 4, and for every wicket taken, multiply it by 2. This must be done in order to get a more accurate gauge on the situation of the game. For those of you who think that Pakistan are going to 'bowl Sri lanka out twice cheaply', I pity you, for this is impossible"

Someone is trying to put a spark in this match.

Sri Lanka have reportedly complained to match referee David Boon about Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal's bowling action during the first Test at Galle.
"If this is not brought under control now, where will it all end? Ajmal is getting away with blue murder and nobody’s taking any action," Sri Lanka's The Nation newspaper quoted an unnamed former Sri Lankan player as saying, while highlighting the displeasure in the Sri Lankan camp.
