Auction Draft - Simple Format

Moral of the Story: If you need a player very desparately, bid aggressively.
I could have bid all my balance amount. But I didn't want to provoke anyone to bid more than my leftover budget. It was stupidity in hindsight. :(

The difficulty is timing your bids. The Lara auction went on for 72 hours whilst this was just over 12. I'd have bid much more for Kumble if I had the opportunity.

To remove the timing effect, here's an idea that can be toyed with. For each player, have three rounds of secret bids. After end of each of 1st and 2nd round disclose all the bids (with or without the names of bidders). For 2nd and 3rd rounds, the bidders can use the disclosed bids as a guide. 3rd round bid decides who gets the auctioned player. Probably that will make the market more "efficient".

Idea for next auction draft may be. You are welcome to steal it so long as you give me the credit :cool2:

It will be yes - probably won't start dead after this one, as I'll have to work my rules out at that point, but won't be too big a gap!

Count me in too, Marc.

Ankit's idea would be too much work for the host. He'll have to make 3 updates in each round. So, (120*3)=360 updates. Assuming, he comes online once every 12 hours (highly doubtful),the auction will last for 6+ months (in reality it will be 12 months, ask me :p ).
