Sammy has only hit one century before in all cricket, be as embarrassing as when Anil Kumble hit a hundred a few years back at the Oval.

Great fightback from these two. Bout 100 away from par but at least they have something to bowl to now.

Yep

At Test level you are going to 'nick off' a lot.

On this pitch 42-3 is dreadful. Decent bowling but.....

And this team battled Australia (maybe that says more about Australia).

Helluva first pill for Shiv, and some great synchroised diving by Prior and Strauss - Tom Daley would have been impressed.

Shiv hopping around like a moggy on hot tin - if he fails this could get ugly.
Looks like a fair battle out there to me.

Maybe that says more about England?

Always rated Marlon Samuels, top stuff tonning up against this attack.

Will be awesome if Sammy tons up. Will also get him some deserved appreciation.

Top stuff from the Windies, they scrapped for every run, from a England POV got a little bit too loose in that last session, a few too many 4 balls and generally didn't maintain that pressure that they love to apply.

If the Windies cobble together 350-375 and bowl last, reckon this pitch might break up for Shillingford in the last innings. Especially in this Chennai-like heat

Good to see the Aussies' latest dick-measuring tactic being the temperature, following on from ground sizes.

Great effort by the windies bats from all account. Hope to catch some play this weekend.
