So whose turn is it? Can I pick now since uvelocity made his pick?

Zaremba uncle, you should have picked twice - ARGH!

Not sure I did miss my turn that time though, did I? After me it was Pothas, and then me again. But you uvelocity jumped in. Sorry if I've misunderstood. But if I'm right, I get to pick a batsman I think?

Edit: I get it now. Not sure this is much fun now - it's been a while since I've been able to pick a batsman and this now starts to look like an exercise in watching my team get more and more distorted with surplus bowlers. My fault for picking McGrath over Lara in the first round I suppose.

Anyway let me ponder and I will pick shortly

yeah I was out of order, early, so I really should delete that pick, wait for you, and then pick. But it shouldn't affect what you pick. I was counting ahead that I'd get a batsman and got excited.

a batsman hurrah!

Stephen Fleming (Batsman) sc00bs

*Stephen Fleming sc00bs
Vin00 Mankad howzat
+ Rod Marsh 46 cans
Chris Lewis prat without a hat / cocaine smuggling
Shane Warne ***ting
Shoaib Akhtar nandrolone
Saeed Ajmal chucka
Mohammad Asif match fixing

yeah it's not that fun if you have a sucky team, but the rules can be tweaked for next time to make for a fairer game maybe

Yeah, it's wrong of me to moan - it's the same for everyone, and frankly I should have seen this coming and gone for a batsman in round 1 when I had the chance. A rule tweak next time might be a good idea though.

Here's a suggestion to ameliorate the problem: how about in the 12th round we can all have a free pick? I say that because it's pretty clear that lots of people are going to be left with some horribly unbalanced teams - which is no fun really - purely because they just didn't get the chance to pick enough batsmen. One or two people will be ok, but that's mainly because the draw favoured them. I realise that there are downsides to changing the rules as we go along, but it's to deal with a problem that has only fully been appreciated as the process has unfolded, and it's probably the lesser of two evils. It's also not as though people are going to be picking Bradman or Hammond in round 12 either, it would just allow a bit more balance to people's teams.

I do feel bad for having not thought out the format fully before we started. I don't blame people for losing interest for no fault of theirs; the format is far too restrictive. I have no problems with implementing your suggestion.

I should say I've got a bloody awesome bowling line up:

McGrath
Thomson
Tate
Laker
Wardle

Not sure there are many conditions in which that attack wouldn't do well.
