Really looking forward to these sims! I just wanted to voice my enthusiasm. The scores at the moment have Chappell and Pollock as clear leaders for the middle order, with O'Reilly almost assured victory in the spin department.

With Richards and Trumper opening, I think that Ricky Ponting would be the best batsman for the number 3 position as in his prime from the available players remaining there was no better first drop batsman.

Number 4 has to be Graeme Pollock. I was disappointed that he didn't make the A team.

The spin trio of O'Reilly, Grimmett and Laker are the 3 to select from in my eyes. I don't really know what more Laker could do to surpass either of the Aussies though, so he gets my vote as one of the clinchers for me was the bowling strike rate.

Also, again if scores are level, the player I didn't pick can go through..

Maybe Trumper was GOOD or GREAT but I dont get it how he gets selected by people who didnt witness much of him. Hayden did everything a TOP quality opener would have done - he attacked good bowling units and was a phenomenal player.

I just dont understand how Trumper is better than Hayden? ( And no I am not saying this by just reading the stats )

I guess that people rate him highly due to his Cricinfo profile in the Wisden Cricketers' Almanack. Its a good piece apart from the first line.

Hayden is one of those subjective players though who could make some peoples World B XI's while he would probably struggle to make other people's World J XI's. I'm from QLD, so naturally a Haydos fan, but he does have a few areas of his game where he wasn't that successful - most notably in seaming conditions. His record in England, South Africa and I guess even New Zealand were not world class.

Overall, I welcome people including the likes of Trumper but I can understand your reasoning for not including him.
