The ATG World XI's game

Yes
I'm still not quite clear on the format - are we selecting just the one team?
Nah. We are planning on going on and on, hopefully up to 16 teams and then having a SIM. The whole idea is because on CW, it feels like we go and on about the same 20 or so players, this will showcase more players and it could be genuinely interesting to see who still misses out or who makes the 7th best team etc..

So from your picks, Marshall and Warne are excluded as they made the World team. We are on to the World A team so you have to pick players pretty much from the shortlist. The shortlist is a guide, if there are some players not mentioned that should be, let me know and they'll be added next round.

Will Pick Hadlee in the allrounder category.

Ambrose

Combines the best of both worlds, intimidating and scary, yet a metronome who gave nothing away.

Trueman

With the support of Ambrose, can bowl as he aggressively as he likes to get wickets.

Muralitharan

I think the ability of a player to bowl long spells is particularly important in a side which may end up relying on Hammond as it's fifth bowling option. None better than Murali.

And of course, yes to a spinner.

Certainly a spinner needs to be picked, so I'll take Bill O'Reilly in that regard. In my mind, the finest spinner of them all. Tenacity, accuracy and fast, fizzling spin all in the one package. His 6'3" frame also helped his bounce and his googly was said to 'climb up the bat'. My fast bowlers will be Joel Garner and Fred Trueman, for reasons I have previously explained. Garner for the unplayable bounce and unnerving accuracy and Trueman for his aggression, theatrics and of course, his outstanding swing bowling. Garner can clean up the tail in a matter of minutes, too.

I'll change my pick to agree with Jack, then, please.

Yes to Q3.

Also a massive wtf to Vaas being on that shortlist.
