how long is Becker (spelling) the Stormers massive lock out for? His injury cost his team the game.

That Sharks vs Chiefs game looks like a tough one to call but Sharks should start favourites.

I am surprised you backed the Chiefs - I only backed them because I am a chiefs fan. Sharks at home at the favourites. I figure the Sharks have a 55% chance of winning.

What were your reasons?

Chiefs on a major roll, been in SA for more than a week so little travel fatigue, Sharks have to take the long flight home after their Aus/NZ tour, and the Chiefs have a good record in Durban. But fully expect them to lose now I've outlined my reasoning...

Stormers forwards have only 1 Bok but boy are they a great and incredibly tough defensive unit. Eben Etzebeth, Siya Kolisi and Rynhardt Elstadt are awesome and only relatively kids. Eben in particularly is scary good, what an athlete. Should be a shoe-in for the Bok side to take on England.

Pretty poor this second half mind but good comeback win after they ****ed up last week against the Crusaders.

So, I decided not to watch the Blues game tonight in case I've been jinxing them. It seems that's not the case.

At least they looked competitive tonight, although it was still a pretty dire performance given the number of All Blacks in the side and the potential of the squad. Plus Baker's try with 10 minutes or so left was a bit dubious since it looked like he pushed Ranger, so could've been a very different result if Bryce Lawrence had penalised Baker for that. Nice to see Mike Delany back, slotted in brilliantly for the Highlanders and outshone Anscombe comfortably.

Was meant to reply earlier in the week. Apparently Bekker's injury isn't too serious even though it forced him to miss the match tonight. Didn't seem to miss him too much though, pretty dominant performance to beat the Reds at home. By the way, I hear that Jean de Villiers is going to be out for a while though.

Stormers smashed us. Their defence is just...wow. Obvously losing Lane and Tapuai in the first 10 didn't help but yeah. Full credit to the Stormers

Reds will still be champions

Their defence is better than the boks. as you are well aware the boks asked them for their defensive secrets and they wouldn't disclose them.

Its such a long season and the Australian conference is so weak compared to the New Zealand and South Africa groups that the Reds still have every chance of making the playoffs. And with Cooper, Ioane, the Faaingas, etc. back they're a completely different side to play against. I don't think they've got it in them to win it back to back though - at present, the Stormers, Bulls, Crusaders and Chiefs are the only ones I can foresee taking the title this season.

A little surprised the Blues ran the Highlanders so close.

Note to self: Hurricane convincingly convinced me to support the Reds with his Bekker injury stuff. Tsk.
