Just so happy to see the old ****er smiling, happy and scoring runs
People with depression do smile... I know you know that but some people assume just because someone is smiling and appears happy they are fine.

I am glad Yardy is back and feeling better though.

5 wickets for Magoffin. How comes he never played Test cricket? That record is a pretty handy one.

He first came along at a time when he had to fight McGrath, Gillespie, Kasprowicz, Lee, Bichel and co. for spots. Didn't perform as spectacularly as others when the guard began to change, so Clark, Hilfenhaus and Siddle and Johnson were preferred.

He was on standby for Australia at one point, but never really broke through. One of the state journeymen who is probably good enough, but just never managed to stand out I guess

Yeah and to add to that he made his first class debut late as he couldn't get a game for Queensland due to Kasprowicz, Bichel. Dale, Noffke, Dawes, Muller etc. He was around 25 when he made his debut and I just think unfortunately its as if those players are earmarked to not represent the country almost.

He had a few injuries at the wrong time which didn't help. He's been bowling superbly this Australia season, so it was a great move by Sussex.

Somerset must rate Dibble as a batsman to have him come above Philander, hope they're right, need at least another 50 from these two.

Philander hasn't made a FC fifty in 3-4 years now. Tailed off a bit as a batsman.

Oh, didn't know that, thanks. His record looks decent over all.
Healthy discussion of Philander's batting going on over in the 'best fast bowler' thread.

Nice to see Compton pushing on again, had a good summer last year. Always found him to be underrated.

Compton has really come good for us, been out-doing much higher rated guys, this season and last, shame he's a bit of a late developer, or I'd be pushing for an England call up.

Dibble doing a job for Somerset ATM, being borne in the best city in the world, obviously helping him.

Glamorgan lost 6 wickets for 1 run or 8 wickets for 16 runs as they slipped from 59 without lost to 102 all-out.

As said yesterday, Somerset have turned this around. With their attack, they should be favourites now that despite the wicket flattening out. Jeetan Patel is a pretty meh overseas signing. I recalled he hit a hundred for Warwickshire but did he win many games with the ball?

Saw Michael Lumb put Durham to the sword, must have been Lumb's first FC hundred in years (?) considering he went 20/20/one day specialist for a far while.
