Disappointing performance from CSK there. With Raina in the middle I was thinking about something around 160. Still a long way to go though.

Chennai need to try Aswin as an opener and Faf should bat at 4 or 5. Ashwin has wide range of shots and he can be explosive when the field is up.

This is a mistake that many teams do in T20. Sachin did the same mistake in the previous IPL seasons.

It is just 20 overs. So the best batsmen should bat first and the best bowlers should bowl first.

Kolkata depend too much on Kallis, and unlike Bangalore's dependence on Gayle, it's not such a good thing. That poor strike rate will pull them back, especially with such a weak bowling attack, and they'll struggle, like they did in the last season. They need to ease him out into a relatively secondary role, as a middle-order batsman, and leave the bowling to five others. With McCullum back, things will be easier, if Gambhir opens with him, and Pathan to follow, but KKR are so stuck with Kallis, it's difficult to imagine a change even as slight as this. They have good T20 players (Ten Do, Shakib, Abdulla, Tiwary, LR Shukla) who are not as celebrated or famous as Kallis, but can't use them at all- though the lesser names get them more for their places.

Delhi are a weaker side without Pietersen, Warner and Mahela (and Taylor injured), but they have a more made-for-T20 side, so they have a very slight edge. They'd struggle fitting them all in the side, and Morkel-Roelof would be the only certainties throughout the IPL.

I do not agree with this too Arjun. Just having a look at the current teams of KKR and DD, there is no way one can say DD has a slight edge. They dont have a single player apart from Sehwag who can match the calibre of Kallis, Mccullum, Tendo, Gambhir, Shakib, Yusuf and Lee and I dont rate Sehwag more than Gambhir too.

If I had to choose it'd definitely be KKR. Why would you want to bet on a tournament that's so unpredictable though? The teams change every year and it's hard to judge the form of players going into the game and things like that. (Assuming you actually make calculated bets :p)

Kolkata have a very flawed plan, and no amount of big names can sort that out. Depending on Kallis, they will be bogged down by a poor strike rate, which will set them back with their weak bowling. They have not managed their resources well in the last year, which can be noticed with their relatively sub-par record in comparison with the top three IPL teams. Gambhir, Yusuf and Ten Do were reduced to bit players, and struggled. The bowling is so weak, it's no contest- Morkel, Irfan and Roelof with support from Umesh and Aaron are any day better than a team whose top bowlers have played more matches than they've taken wickets.

If Delhi can bat smartly around Sehwag and Finch, they can win. They're a better fit for T20 than Kolkata, and if they can manage their eleven to good effect, there's no way Kolkata's big batting names can stop them.
I fancy a punt on tonight's game. Any tips? Jono is usually good for an IPL betting tip. :p

I want to bet on tonight's game so I actually have an interest in the result when I watch it. No other reason.

That money can be used to get some KFC man, think about it.
I've been massively fluky with my bets lately; won over 2 grand in the last month, so I don't mind forking over $20 to care about a match. I've always found that T20 cricket is quite interesting to watch when you care who wins; when you're neutral it's usually boring as bat**** though.
