But you LOST to the team you are directly competing with. If they beat you head-to-head, then why does it matter who's NRR was better? They just proved they were better than you (at least in that tournament). They have the same number of wins as you and they beat you. I don't see why that's unfair at all. The NRR can be affected by so many variables that it almost becomes too unreliable at times.
But then in reality it was a 3-way tie on number of wins. But it's not because of the bonus point which was based on NRR in that match. So it's not very consistent anyway. If the concept of bonus point didn't exist, the 3-way tie wouldn't allow for head to head results to be considered, and we would have qualified :(

There you have a point. I don't like the concept of a "bonus point" based on NRR. However, I would still maintain that the FIRST tie breaker should always be head-to-head matchups, no matter how you got to the tie in the first place.

We just felt sorry for Kohli and his Tendi, so we gave him a century and a chance to get his team to final. But you guys had already blown it by losing to the Banglas.
It's actually SL and India who felt sorry for Pakistan. It's not fair that they have 4 and 5 Asia Cups while Pakistan have just the 1 :(

Doesn't matter, playing better cricket overall is more important then just against 1 team. If in a WC one team hammers all other teams bar one, and that one team just about scraps to the point where only one of the two teams can go through to the next stage, ur telling me that the team who only just about won there matches gets to go through? Doesn't work for me, sorry.

"Just about" winning still means they won their matches. No tournament is awarded to a team based on style points. If a team won the same number of matches as you AND beats you head-to-head, they deserve to advance. Seems very fair to me. I guess we just have a very different viewpoint on this.

Very well played Bangladesh. Have to give them that. Quite an achievement to beat two of the top teams in the same tournament. Brilliant effort.

I don't know whether to be disappointed that we didn't make the final or to be relieved that we weren't the only team to lose to Bangladesh (I'd say 'no offence', but I'd be lying. Can't wait for global warming to drown you guys out ).
