@Arachnodouche ......awta though......the overkill in the 00s wasn't good

the old charm of the indo-pak games has definitely withered......

I guess the world has changed and old rivalries don't mean what they used to......

that is also true......

the imrans, miandads, akrams, younises, gangulies, kumbles, azharuddins, kapils, are no longer around.....those were superstars of a different era when being a superstar was a mark of respect too

this is the age of Justin Beiber......expect nothing much

from cricinfo

"6.30 pm Mohammad Isam, a reporter at the ground, sends us this: "If they can't start the game by 9.25 pm, the match will go into the next day and continue from the position where it ended today. At 9.25 pm, a 20-over innings is possible, which constitutes a game," according to the event director Iftekhar Mithu. We will start losing overs from 7.15 pm, if play does not start by then.

Back on the topic of the title of this thread - I heard all Asians are challenged in the groinal region, so cups aren't particularly important.

Contra

Cricketer Of The Year
Do you guys think it's just a question of being increasingly jaded with age that Indo-Pak games don't have nearly the same sort of edge as, say, from ten years ago and earlier? I guess the semi last year was built up appreciably, and I do know that there was overkill in the mid 00s, but I remember every game from the late 80s and through the 90s sending absolute chills down the spine; streets empty, people crowded around TV shops, the works basically. Somehow "the thrill is gone".

Go Sri Lanka Go.
It's due to the lack of personalities as well in the Pakistan camp (No Akram, Waqar, Akthar, Inzamam, Afridi the batsmen, Anwar etc). Along with them being not as good as us over the last few years (unlike the 90's).

Having said that the last few years (and games) have been awesome and the hype has definitely been there. CT 09 was a cracker, 010 Asia Cup match was a thriller as well, then the Semi-Final in the WC and then this last game all have been close and compeititve.

Also WTF there is a reserve day now?

that's the target so bangers win at that

haha....10 overs have been docked while only 20 runs have been reduced from the orginal target?
