I'm looking for 10 participants for this one. USD 15,000,000 per drafter is the budget. I am going to conduct open bidding for 120 players - one-by-one. No secret ballots, no emails - just outbid each other in the open.
There's 12 hours minimum timeline per player. You can post your bid, revise your bid, cancel your bid, or choose not to bid before I post the results and make the next player available. The highest bid wins the player, provided the highest bidder has enough account balance to post the bid. In case of equal bids, the first among the equal bids wins the player. In case of no bid from anyone, I shall introduce a new player (that means there will be 120 selections in total - and no forced selections).
The 12 hours timeline is more for me, than for you. It is the minimum time after which I can throw in the next player. That doesn't mean I shall work like a machine to provide you a new player after every 12 hours dot (although I shall be able to do so sometimes). So you can bid till I post the results of a round - the time for which is 12 hours 'minimum'.
The idea, as always, is to have the best XI. There'll be a voting thread, and I shall also conduct a sim myself using my 'adjusted averages adjusted for opposition, conditions, sample size and longevity' (which I'll not disclose beforehand).
As you can understand, this draft will take 2-4 months time as it stands So bear that in mind when you join.
Also please note that I have already decided on the 120 players I am going to make available, in turn. I don't claim them to be the best 120 players ever or something. The onus of choosing a balanced XI lies on you. Just for a random example - I don't promise to provide you with wicketkeepers till all of you have one. However, this in no way means that I shall purposefully make your lives miserable
2 points to note before I start:
1. 10 drafters and 120 players don't automatically ensure 12 players per team. Some may end up with 15, some may end up with 11. But keep in mind that if you end up with less than 11 players then that's game over for you (even if Bradman is among the players you have, for example).
2. If you don't have a specialist keeper in your side then I shall penalise you in the sim by assigning one of your premier bowlers as keeper. For the sake of definition, here I define a 'specialist keeper' as one who has either kept in 20 test matches, or kept in 50% of the test matches he has played or both.
One small hint in the beginning can make your lives easier: There won't be any absolute 'dud' players among the 120, whatever that means.
