Another in the long line of useless Cantabrian openers who score a free ride into the test side despite being average in the Plunket Shield.

Nicol is so comical.

If I seriously thought NZ could win this I would be pissed off.

Anything over 50 is success for any of these NZ players.

Think that's about 300

Or you'll drop him for some other rubbish opener because McCullum has "finally found his spot" at 3 and can't be moved now no matter what the damage to team balance is.
Yeah actually I suspect they'll avoid decisions on the wicketkeeping issue by keeping Van Wyk as keeper and getting Twatling to open.

I doubt we will keep Nicol or call up a new opener. It'll just be Guptill and McCullum taking up the opening batsmen spots with Brownlie, Watling or Flynn moving in to the middle order.

Yes, I think so too. Pisses me off that there is no opener in New Zealand that could actually average above 30 in test cricket (exc. Bangladesh and Zim Guppy, you ****)

Forces McCullum away from no.3, which I am a big fan of him occupying.

Try Twatling and one of the Wellingtonians.
