Great finish by Dhoni and Raina, not so good bowling by Sri Lanka, not even one bouncer attempted

Excellent all round batting performance from India. Kohli and Gambhir were excellent, worked hard for their runs. The running between the wickets was very good, Kohli pushed Gambhir a lot for those extra runs. Dhoni was aggressive in coming up the order and he was excellent in finishing the innings and getting India to 304.

Sri Lanka were very average. Plenty of defensive bowlers hence they got only 3 wickets in 50 overs. Their death bowling was terrible. Plenty of full tosses in the last 15 overs (missed Malinga). Might have been better off bowling more slower balls given how their attempted yorkers weren't working too well. The fielding was also surprisingly below par from Sri Lanka, a couple of misfields and some fumbles as well as a costly drop by Chandimal when Gambhir was on 26.

Game's still not finished by any means. I don't expect India's bowling to be much better and given that Sri Lanka does have a target in mind, they will be more aggressive at the start of the innings which might lead to them getting control of the game or losing quick wickets.

Have no idea how pacers are supposed to bowl to Mahela on these pitches.

I guess just old-fashioned accurate good length bowling on offstump. Tough to do though.

304 is no longer a very difficult score to chase. Back in 90's anything above 300 used to induce panic. Good old days!

In this mode Mahela reminds me a lot of Tendulkar. Only real difference are Tendulkar's drives, but they have the same time and ability to read everything off the pitch.

Kumar Sangakkara to change his name to Kumari Sangakkara out of deference to Mahela's awesomeness.
