Ok it's fair to criticize the top order for failing. But that innings was ****. He had at least 75 dot balls. Even in the very end, he couldn't get singles.
Why single out Tharanga? If he had any support at all, Sri Lanka would have won. He timed his innings to ensure Sri Lanka would have sufficient deliveries to win, however nobody else stood up.

Blame the top-order who threw it away.

Hopefully this means the Test series at the end of the year will be a lot more interesting than a lot of us were predicting four-five months ago.
