We seem to have an aversion to picking Sam Robson because he plays as a local player in England, otherwise he would've got a go ahead of Henry this season (although admittedly Henry has outperformed him in grade cricket). Same thing appears to apply to Jaques for next season.

It certainly didn't matter when Jaques was younger, so I think we've changed our policy on it. I don't really know why though.

yeah i know know but if there's a bit of a shake up around NSW, both in terms of the squad eg one of those Ponies leaving and off-field (i mean the selection guys COME ON) that might change


one can hope anyway


we should bring back Robson's dad as a selector

Won't be surprised if Blues lose a lot of their younger players to other states because their handling of these players has been piss poor and that's just halting their growth and to make matters worse they have created a leadership vacuum by making SOK the captain.

The Australian and Cricinfo has already done articles,suggesting Kurt Patterson and Maddison should move interstate.

However i predict Steve O'keefe to lose the captaincy,punished for his and the states' performance. I think he will be lucky to hang onto his state contract.
I tip Ben Rohrer to be captain next summer.

Money on Katich going to WA sounds like a done deal,wouldn't surpise me if Brandon Drew goes to the Redbacks after playing for the Adelaide Strikers.(there was talk earlier this summer).

The NSW grade system produces very good players but the NSW state system really does seem to suck at maturing them into great players. QLD seems the place to go if you want to turn an average domestic performer into a gun. Look at Harris, Watson, Forrest and even Dan Christian to an extent.

Ha, what's QLD done for Christian?

I'm enjoying sitting back watching Khawaja and Hughes in action today.

Hughes looks to have made some adjustments in his technique. He's definitely trying to be more still at the point of delivery and is looking to leave the ball more, it's been good to see.

Christian was a joke example but the Watson example wasn't much better; he performed at lot better for Tasmania than he did for Queensland and has been primarily developed by the Australian national system anyway.

We got the balance right for once but I still think we got the personnel wrong in at least one case, and we'll probably get the batting order wrong too.
