Australian Domestic Season 2011-12

Yeah, rubbish, tie means team who did the hard work during the year wins. You don't change that rule just because there's two less games during the season.

On a different level but even more concerning is a tale of a lesser-known state-contracted player who has had a below-par season in all formats of the game.

This player is super talented and strikes the ball as cleanly as anyone in the country. He also happens to have an IPL contract worth just the base salary of $20,000. He has an injury that requires surgery immediately but instead has chosen to delay the surgery because he can still play with minimal discomfort. The IPL unashamedly is his priority. The recovery time after surgery will be three months and will greatly affect his preparations for the next Australian summer. This is less than ideal. The bright lights of India and the trimmings that he believes will come with it have won the battle. There are more like this.

Australia Nathan Rimmington Kings XI Punjab $ 20,000 $ 20,000

Oh hey Aiden.

Redbacks

International Captain
Ole Punter should have settled for 1 when faulkner jammed that yorker out of his ****.

WAC taking his pads off for the last ball.

Starech was on today and then smacked 36 off 16
Shane Mott returned from that broken leg and took a 6fer
Ian Moran took 6/17 and there's another 3 wickets to go
Copeland took a 6fer and top scored with the bat to steer St George to first innings points
Haddin smacked 89* in a 130 stand with Nev
Cameron White forget to lock his car doors
James Faulkner will forever be known as that useless **** who couldn't put bat on ball when 2 off 3 was needed
PEWS is about to rant about George Bailey getting M.O.M

I love how most of the cliffs were about the premier domestic competition in Australia there Spikey.

Can't believe Bailey got MOTM though.

Admittedly, this was the first ODD game I saw for the season (pov) and the volume was down low at the party I was at, what was the deal with Bailey's LBW? Was it referred by the umpire? ed: so it was. heh.

In any case, it was an exciting finish. I didn't know a tie would seal it for the Redbacks until the very end so it was a pleasant surprise indeedy.

yeah. it almost seems they started doing it halfway through the bigbash. no press release or anything about it. literally all we know about it is that the 3rd ump can refer a call.

Was a great game last night but felt pretty bad for Bailey, he was superb last night with the way he paced his knock and the final result was a shame from the Tassie pov because they without doubt have been the benchmark side in domestic cricket for the last few years.

Cricket New South Wales selectors have made a number of changes for the match after the loss to Western Australia in Perth last week, with Maddinson, Scott Coyte, Mitchell Starc and Simon Katich re-joining the side. They will replace Shane Watson (Australian duty), Tim Van Der Gugten (left out) and Nathan Hauritz (shoulder injury).

A squad of 13 has been named with two to miss out :

Stephen O’KEEFE ©
Trent COPELAND
Scott COYTE
Brad HADDIN
Phil HUGHES
Simon KATICH
Usman KHAWAJA
Josh LALOR
Nic MADDINSON
Peter NEVILL
Ben ROHRER
Steven SMITH
Mitchell STARC

A) Predict which player will be a late out without any warning
B) Predict which player will came in from outside those names and end up playing
C) Predict which player will be totally screwed over by the above two events and end up not playing

A) SOK
B) Nic Bills
C) Luke Doran, Peter Nevill

wouldn't be the worst thing if one of Hughes/Usman/Smith/Maddinson etc left. There's probably a case for saying there's too many uh PONI's which can make selection a bit of a problem, and NSW usually suck when we play heaps and heaps of PONI's anyway, and moving could well restart one of those careers which has stalled a bit

Hughes out
Sam Robson in
