Makes you wonder how the Test series might have gone if they'd played the one-dayers first. I know the ECB and ICC would say that ODIs are a valuable 'product' in their own right, but I'd still rather we used one-day series to acclimatise for Tests, not the other way round.

One hundred makes an amazing difference to a batsman's temperament. KP didnt looked this relaxed and self assured in the India ODIs.

Lol, I'm a pietersen supporter and unlike most english supporters i haven't wanted him dropped him for odi or test teams. doesn't mean he isn't selfish and doesn't bat for himself. and pietersen stopped trying to score well before kieswetter was out. as if to make the point for me pietersen immediately accelerates after his hundred.
Yes big difference though isn't there, he was facing a seamer sending down half tracker pies. Look at it what ever way you want mate but it's clear to me that if England lose KP they are in huge trouble, Bresnan in next and hasn't batted in months as well.

In many ways a much better knock than the last ton, played it differently to the last time because the situation forced it, with wickets falling at the other end. Always said KP could make a good opener if he could get his confidence back.

Patel gets to finish it off. Apt since he was the one who said they would be targeting for a whitewash after winning the first match

Edit: guess not

Shame he didn't get to finish it but you could tell he didn't want to let it go to the last over. Awesome stuff from the big man,he just adds so much to the team and makes England are far better side.
Him and Cook and Finn have been the stars of the show this series.

Just goes to show if Cook gets out early England will lose, the overrated batting side they are.:p

Probably already stated, but this is the first time that a side who has been whitewashed in the tests, whitewashed the same opposition in the subsequent ODI's. Remarkable.

Is this England's first ODI whitewash in a 4 match series? I dont remember any other

Edit: Guess not. 2 previous whitewashes against Zimboks and a couple of all wins in tourneys with more than 2 countries.

Hasn't been said but that was a important inning by Kieswetter as far as his one day career goes. I've also been impressed with the fat man again this series, he's been a good addition to the side.

Only one that comes close that I can remember is when we beat SA 4-0 in a 5 match series with a rained out game in 2008.
oh ya, the 2008 series. Also England didnt lose any match in India's ODI series last year even though one match was tied and one washed out. But this is the first whitewash (all matches won) against a major cricketing nation. Beating Pakistan at Sharjah is a fantastic achievement for the ODI team. Hope Finn gets the MoS as he deserves it

Haha, was thinking that as well. I wonder if Pakistan's spinners would have been handled differently after 7 limited overs matches.
