Delighted that Briggs is playing, have not seen all that many Hampshire players go on to play for England but he has done in next to no time. Think he will go well, have no doubt he has the temprament to play international cricket.

Is he the first player from the Isle of Wight to play for England?

Knight saying they should have played an unchanged team. Apparently if we do that we're guaranteed a win, if we make any changes we're almost certain to lose. :dry:

People go on about always playing the 'best XI' but since when does everyone agree on what the best eleven is? Bresnan and Dernbach have both won matches for England before.

Looks like it - only a handful have played for the county from what I can see, and none of any note.

Hadn't realised Dernbach's record was so ordinary tbh - avge 41, econ 6.2. Had a tough time of it against India last summer.


But that'll help!

haven't followed any of the odi series, just looked at the scorecards now. bit of a different batting result there I guess you could say.

Shafique is a very underrated batsman technically he's as good as any young batsman in the world i think confidence is the real issue with him.

Briggs might have a bit of problems because of the pitch. Not much spin in it. Nice style though. And he'll develop more spin as time goes on. And if England have players like him and Pakistan do not. Pakistan are not producing enough.
