Gets better for Rangers - the reason HMRC were after us has nothing to do with the big tax case and has everything to do with the fact that we haven't paid a penny in PAYE or VAT since May.

Suppose thats one way to **** us off TBH. Pay my ****ing wages you ****s.

Would repeat some of the comments flying around work today, but alas far too sectarian in nature for open discussion, whilst I'm sure GF would take them for the banter they are (being level headed n all).... best not letting others

I'd put Cantona ahead of Zola by miles. & Di Canio not really worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as either.

Eric had an aura, sometimes all he did was take a penalty but United definitely looked a far better side with him. Worth noting that yer Geordies' implosion in 96 coincided with the great man's return from suspension.
Cantona's impact was massive - not only in the vital goals that he scored, but also in how Man Utd played. He was a massive influence in establishing daylight between them and everyone else by the mid 1990's. Whilst I'm sure they'd have done something even without him, I don't think they'd have been so dominant, with the resultant knock-on effect into the current century. Yes I know he did nothing in Europe, but he is easily one of the most significant imports in terms of the domestic game.

Certainly was on your fellow Palace fan back in the day.

But I totally agree. He seemed to give United belief; he'd be there with his chest thrust out and his collar turned up as a walking "**** you" to the opposition.

What do you think job interviews for stewards consist of nowadays?

Let people stand and sing at the back, for ****'s sake. Intimidating my arse.

Something of a win-win situation for me. Good to see a particularly vile piece of work take some of his own medicine. And Cantona's subsequent ban cost them the league that year. :D

You knew the guy personally, or was he just well known as a troublemaker?

Neither - purely hindsight once the dust had settled and we found out a bit about him. Supporter of NF and/or BNP, and had been charged with attacking a Sri Lankan guy with some blunt object that would have mashed his skull had he made proper contact.

Incidentally he was in the news earlier this month - apparently attending Kingston Crown Court over his behaviour at his son's footie match.

So when was the last time the EPL didn't have a team in the quarter finals of the Champions' League? There must be a good chance of that happening this year.

FFS. Think one might have to blame the pitch for that one. Vermaelen lost his footing totally.

The flanks are ploughed fields. Not excusing our uselessness tonight tho.

Pitch was incredibly dubious but Arsenal second best here by a considerable margin. Unlucky with a few decisions perhaps, but generally that was a deserved defeat.

The team looks entirely short of ideas, not to mentioned fatigued. Sad sign off for Thierry as well.

How far has English football actually fallen? I saw an article the other day where they mentioned "the step up" from Serie A to the Premiership, if Napoli dump out Chelsea too that could start to look unbelievably stupid.

TBF, were looking at one of the most comical defensive units since Chris Read ducked *that* bouncer, and a team so far off the rails its untrue.

The two good teams, well one hit on nerves (first time n all), and we just ****ed about.

Judging the Prem on this isn't accurate - the record of English teams over the last 10 years or so speaks for itself, this is the first time its slipped really, but I'd expect it to bounce back next year

When we win it

How many of the world's top players actually play in England?

None of the German national side play in England, only David Silva from Spain plays in the EPL (I'm ignoring Torres as he's a joke player now) and even out of the Dutch side I can only think of de Jong, Kuyt, van der Vaart and van Persie off the top of my head.

A lot of the top sides have Englishmen as their best players, which suggests that there's been a drop in quality. There's definitely been a massive decline in the quality of defences, which in Europe will kill you.

Hmm, Warnock to the Terriers? Despised in a lot of places, but still well liked in Huddersfield.

EDIT: not sure what to think at this stage. Liked Clark, but I'm not sure that he could get us there to be honest, on track for another heartbreaking play-offs. Probably still are, tbh.

Hope you fail horribly if you get Colin, replacing a young manager in hs first job afte he has lost how many games? Bloody outrageous. I know the chairman is ambitious but he deserved untill the end of the season at least.
