How funny that a tail derided as incredibly long (effectively tail enders from #7 down) pulled off one of the greatest lower order batting efforts I've ever seen.

Telstraclear internet in Wellington's been down all day, but it's just come back and allows me to doff my virtual cap to Michael Mason. Great ending to a game that looked as if it had fizzled out.

Whatever happened to the art of the yorker. Seriously. I didn't see it last night at Eden Park, I didn't see it today, I haven't seen it for ages.

I'm equally excited about Bevan Small though. The kid has an X factor about him much like Bracewell has ATM.
Yeah, I've watched him play a few times now and he's been impressive. It'll be interesting to see where Small, Henry, Milne etc will be in a year or two with a bit more first class experience behind them. It's encouraging to see so many young guns coming through.

So..... CD pick up Jarvis.... pretty weak but ok. What disturbs me is contained in the 3rd paragraph

CD sign Zimbabwe's Kyle Jarvis - cricket - sport | Stuff.co.nz

"''Of the bowlers contracted at the start of the season we have had Doug Bracewell selected in the Black Caps, Adam Milne and Ben Wheeler needing to see specialists to determine whether they can bowl again this season,"

WTF? Are we seeing the creation of Richard Sherlock II and Richard Sherlock III respectively?

Pardon my ignorance as I havent seen Small bowl, but I was under the impression he was quite a few clicks slower than Milne & Wheeler?
He's a bit slower, I guess. Certainly slower than Milne. But also injury prone. Maybe we've already had RS IV in Mitchell McClenaghan anyway?

Adam Milne can't be that bad. He played four List A games in a period of two weeks recently. That's a fair effort with his injury problems even if it is limited overs.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. The guy was bowling quick, didn't seem to be holding himself back or being held back by injury. Perhaps it's part of their overall workload management scheme and isn't anything to be alarmed by?

Nice work from NZC having the highlights up, or purporting to, on their site..except it's now 5 days since Sunday and the Ford Trophy final clips aren't up.
