Even if he had spun it half a bats width I would have been happy Flem. Not asking for huge ripping deliveries or for a huge amount of air. Wouldn't really have cared if he hadn't have used his googly at any stage of his spell.

Yes it is understandable that he bowled conservatively for his debut. Just next time he needs to show more otherwise if selected for the SA games he will go for more runs than he wants to.

I am not asking him to bowl wicket taking deliveries in ODIs but to not be smacked around in ODIs you need to turn it a "bit".

So was he literally bowling straight-breaks?

Nethula to Chigumbura, no run, turn and bounce there as Elton proprs forward but is surprised and gets an outside edge which rolls to third man
Sounds like turn to me...

The odd one turned - but not enough of them. One in particular pitched on middle and would have hit off stump was a peach. It squared the batsman up.

Ask the other posters how much they thought he turned it.

Poor last 10-15 overs from NZ there. Really seemed to lose a bit of intensity. Particularly annoyed with (I think) Nicol giving away a really unnecessary overthrow when Nethula was bowling. Should look to finish these sort of games off. Against a team with a better lower order (Aus, India, England etc.) you can give them a sniff.

Williamson
Ryder (let the fat **** just hit fours and sixes in the batting powerplay)

Oram (gun idea bringing him up the order. Seemed the give the big fella a new lease of life. Needs to be tried again)

Batting order to be flexible from no.3 downwards
