So you only get the one incorrect review now? Or has it always been one?
I must have missed that one. So many bloody rule changes it's hard to keep track.

Ellis actually looked surprisingly handy with the bat from the snippets I saw at work, better than I thought.

Incidentally, nice to see some more genius marketing from NZ cricket scheduling the first ODI of the summer on a Friday before a long weekend on a ground with no lights.

What's happened to Ray Price of late? Hasn't been doing great ever since the world cup in LO has he?

Any ideas on what we will see come Waitangi Day?

I wonder if NcCullum and Southee might be rotated out for Bates and Nethula. Might as well play them at some point since they're in the squad. Pretty arrogant of us to play the rotation game but then its ODIs not tests so who cares.

You'd want at least two experienced and/or proven bowlers in the lineup. Zimbabwe may have been ****e up to date, but I think their batting may just fire in one of these remaining two games.

I don't have a problem with rotating players in the ODI squad. With so much ODI cricket being played, and the rather large number of injuries players seem to have these days, you need to expand the pool of players with ODI experience.

I wouldn't mind seeing Oram replace Southee. Better bowler and better batsman. You would have some serious all rounder potential... NcCullum, Ellis, Oram, Bracewell and even Nicol.

I'm going to be an elitist **** and suggest we keep certain good test prospects away from the limited overs formats and pick specialists like Mills, Bates etc.

Thoughts?

I'd like to see Southee given a rest but he's a Whangarei lad so I doubt he will sit out Whangarei's first international cricket match.

I'd like to see Nethula and Oram into the side for Mills and NcCullum. Then for the third ODI, Bates in for Southee.

I'm not really sure if I should deprive myself of some much needed sleep just to see my team getting thumped again. If they don't do something to convince me to stay up all night, I'll simply go to sleep and I won't even bother looking at the scorecard tomorrow morning.

Some of the other Zim batsmen need to make a contribution and not leave it all up to Taylor. H Masakadza, Taibu and Waller need to step up. They just need to think back to how they played in the last ODI against NZ that was played in Zimbabwe, and then take that confidence into this match.

The forecast is for rain, so sleeping would be the way to go.
