When's that likely to be, James? Sounds like a major change from what I understand of these things. (Which isn't much, granted.)
No plan currently. The general feeling surrounding vbulletin 4 is that in its current state, it is still too buggy so until they release a few more patch releases with bug fixes we'll hold off.

vbulletin 4 runs off a completely new template system and upgrades to it from vbulletin 3 with lots of mods are very difficult which is why we've tried to avoid making anymore changes to the current forum.

Reckon if we are having avatar captions, dont allow people to do their own. Instead each month everyone is assigned a random persons avatar to caption. Should make it more fun

Seems like the forum is always 'just about' to go through an upgrade these days. Just don't want to do the work to implement new features imo.
Well I like James based on his contributions in NZ cricket and rugby threads so I am not going to make him feel bad - but there is some truth in this. I have personally suggested at least 4 or 5 ideas over the past couple of years - and have seen others make suggestions and nothing transpires. I thought Nnadens like button was a winner of an idea - for a large number of reasons.

Anyways good to be grateful for what we have - it is good site and moderation (except for PEWS:ph34r:) is top drawer.

Your obsession with PEWS is really odd.
