Rehman.People think he's the 2nd coming of Paul Harris what people don't realize he's an intelligent bowler who will keep it tight when conditions don't favour him but as soon as you give him a helpful track he will get you the wickets.
Are you basing all this off one match..?

He isn't great against anyone who can play spin imo. Was pretty poor against Sri Lanka and South Africa. He's a steady bowler and I think he's rated fairly by CWers. Definitely higher than Harris, at least.

Don't see how it does, all way through his career he's been prone to having a bad series of games then suddenly make a series of big runs, also considering how many people average in the 50's I definitely don't agree that it flatters him at all.
As far as failing in SA, imo he shouldn't have been, if you watched it you could see he was nowhere near fit, he even limped his way through most of that tour after the Achilles operation, tbh it's one of Flower and the England staff's poorer calls they've made rushing him back to play in SA.
He obviously suffered with form when he had that injury during the Ashes in 09 and that form loss lasted from when he came back in the SA tour in 09/10 until the end of the English summer but he still managed to average 40 during the course of all this.
He averaged over 40 during that period because of the runs he scored against Bangladesh - he faded badly in SA & was rank against Pakistan.

Considering the fact that Bangladesh has one of the best 3 spinners in the world today, I would not ignore runs against Bangladesh in Bangladesh.

Matters not as much when the rest of the attack is poo tho. Batsman can sit in against Shakib safe in the knowledge there's some freebies on offer from the other end.

With Rehman & Hafeez being quality supporting acts it's not so much an option v Pakistan.

The most unfairly treated players (as in those who don't receive the praise they deserve) are usually the players from the smallers teams...usually Bangladesh and Zimbabwe but add Ireland there too.

Its funny when people will ignore runs scored against Bangladesh when they have some of the better spinners in the world today.. I mean if Clarke's double against Ashwin can be counted, then why not KP's runs against Shakib? Shakib is a country mile ahead of Ashin as a bowler.

Tatenda Taibu is a wicket keeper batsman of the highest class and no one talks about him.

Neil Johnson was one of the finest all rounders in limited overs cricket and no one remembers him.

Ermm because each team has more than one bowler, maybe?

Because Clarke didn't score a double century against Ashwin.

He scored it against India.

Yeah and the other three were Marshall, Holding and Garner.
They were certainly far better than anything else Bangladesh have to offer.

I too think runs scored against Bangladesh are *sometimes* dismissed completely too readily, but comparing Bangladesh's attack to India's just because their best bowler is better than a one of India's is absolutely ridiculous and shows a fundamental lack of context in general.
