the world's no: 1 ranked player dutifully exits the scene as is her wont so that her betters can fight it out for the title...

Back to 4-4 now.

Hadn't realised, but del Potro has one of those chins that looks chemically enhanced.

Fed first set. Critical imo. Delpo needed to take an early set (I know he didn't in the US Open 09, but he's not at that form just yet).

Although Rafa in a tight first set with Berdych here.

Nadal really is Hewitt on the juice (metaphorically speaking). Chases down everything.

True, Hewitt brought on the massive work rate style game that has become the norm, vs big serve volley plonkers. Nadal is like Hewitt with a heap more natural talent which makes for an amazing player.

Nadal, like Djokovic, just an archetypal Eurotrash Douchebag.

Wanker hair style, confected aggro when you couldn't knock the fuzz off a peach, head band, homo-****** dress sense.

No wonder Jono likes him so much.

I actually think there is an inconsistency with the rule where you can't run to see whether you can return the ball before challenging the previous ball, but you can challenge after checking whether your shot is out.

Anyway Berdych played damn well. If only he could stick a backhand volley at set point...

Rafa"s Grand Slam record vs Fed 7-2. Fed hasn't beaten him in a Slam since Wimbledon 2007. Will still go in favourite with the bookies though, since he's second favourite for the tournament and Rafa is fourth.

Is there really any need for every commentator and pundit in tennis to constantly refer to Roger Federer as "the great man"? I cringe every single time.

International 12th Man
federer vs nadal

nadal might win it but IMO, only federer can stop djoovic given he gets into the final ( which looks like a good possibility though , given murray wont be much of a trouble)

anyways good if federer can pull out a win here

the final before the final

Well, Nadal most certainly will not beat Novak if he stands 4 metres behind the baseline when receiving second serves like he did at times last night.

It took Uncle Tony to (illegally) coach from the stands to bring him forward.

lol yeah , saw the map later at end of 2nd set or so

hes been returning from deep ..

anyways 1 thing i found sad yesterday was, nadal has been lacking those aces which ppl need and which sometimes simply finish of the game for u rather prolong it unnecessarily

on the other hand jono, do u think the old guy roger stands a chance against nadal ?
