With the premise I have watched little cricket in the past few years, I searched out Amla on YouTube. Mmm, I haven't seen enough to form a decisive opinion, but I don't think he's quite in the same league as Laxman or some of the other craftsmen of the past 10-15 years. Still, it's nice to see an article in praise of artistry. And a reminder that cricket is one of the few games left which still affords the possibility. Don't take that away from us 20/20. Don't let us end up like tennis, where the serve and volley is but a distant memory invoking melancholic regret for what's been lost.
