Righto time to migrate back here. Everything starts up again straight away pretty much. SA-VIC shield on the 2nd - which is during the T20's so they'll be down a few - and NSW-TAS FRC on the 4th. There's four rounds left in the shield and two in FRC. If I'm reading the ladder right every team bar WA could make the FRC final although NSW and VIC need to get some bonus points.
In the shield South Australia are predictably gone and NSW are pretty much on the crisp of being gone, currently 12 points behind 2nd place WA. Vic and TAS are in between. QLD have a spot in the final pretty much wrapped up unless they don't take anymore points at all. Vic have two games against SA to make up loss points.

Note: If A) Australia don' make the tri series finals or B) They win/lose in straight sets the states could possibly have international players for the last round.
But,
the WI tour starts on the same day as the shield final meaning A) Obviously international OD players won't be there for it but B) the jam packed schedule means the lacks of Ponting, Clarke etc def won't play in that final round of the shield

What's the call on Maddinson? Classy batsman, however his results have taken a dive. A shame as NSW have given him plenty of opportunity this season without delivery. I can only imagine the frustration for NSW fans as he looks much better than a mid 30's average cricketer.
#BigBashProblems - Maddinson would have been dropped but the good form in the BBL means he might not be anymore. Massive problems with team selection for NSW:
1. Hughes
2. Would have been Jaques but now might be Maddinson
3. Usman
4. Katich
5. Smith? rohrer? jaques? maddinson? patterson? HADDIN?
6. Moz (ONLY IF HE BOWLS)
7. Nev.....or haddin
8. Hauritz
9. SOK (C)
10. Copeland
11. whoever is fit. Bollinger, Starc and Haze all gone/playing for Aus. Cummins isn't currently fit. I favour a return through NSW (obv) but that might not happen. ****ley took 3 in the Grade T20 final but isn't a chance. Between Abbott & Lalor I guess which is hardly inspiring when you're playing two spinners. and you've gotta play two spinners or else you're playing both of Abbott & Lalor!
....And then Watson may return through NSW too. jesus. And we'll still be suffering first innings collapses and telling Moz and Nev to clean it up. And of course if they tell Haddin to regain form in the shield the mighty Nev gets ****ed over.
