BBC Sport - Gary Ablett, former Liverpool & Everton defender, dies at 46

Don't really remember much about him. But seemed a decent player and was well liked. RIP. Very sad.
Jeez. Had heard he wasn't well after his Ipswich contract was cancelled, but had no idea he was terminal. RIP.

He was one of those players who fans appreciate because he always gave it everything, but wasn't the most naturally gifted player to wear either the red or the blue, as evidenced by his lack of any full England honours.

Managers dream though as he could play centre half or left back and always gave his all.

RIP

For someone who always argues that chances don't matter, goals do, you making this argument screams bias. Which I'm fine with, of course, just find it kinda funny. Especially as we were quite obviously unlucky to concede a 93rd minute offside goal.
Yeah the goal was offside which tbf had slipped my mind. Don't get the rest of your post though, given the match other than the goal neatly fits into my argument. Chances don't matter... goals do. You scored none. Not really unlucky that you didn't win (which probably wasn't what Marc was trying to say in the post I was responding to tbf).

Rooney fined after underperforming in training following "meal"

From the BBC.

Lol. "Despite no suggestion they misbehaved or drank too much"

Yeah, I'm pretty much buggered for the next day when I eat a meal in the evening. They're having a giraffe, aren't they?

Listening to Palace v Leicester on 5 live. Incredibly annoying how the commentary team keeps pronouncing Yuki Abe's name "Ay-Bay".

A footballers idea of drinking too much is a 4am finish in a police cell on an assault charge (***ual or otherwise)

Probably had a few bottles of wine, had a laugh and a giggle, then thrown it back up in training the next day!

If they'd got Wednesday off though, why not go out Tuesday night instead? Numpties

Showing up at training pissed/hungover wouldn't go down well at any time I shouldn't have thought, regardless of the proximity to a match.

Well in Norwich. Sending QPR ever closer to the relegation zone, marvelous. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of individuals.

The best and worst of Barton. :( Devastating for QPR, was a massive game for them. Time to spend spend spend spend spend spend spend

Norwood's on Fire
Always a tough one when you're a new Prem club though. In many ways it's safer to go down and use the experience to relaunch. Served West Brom fairly well as they initially avoided going back down with a monster wage bill. Guess QPR are okay on that front though, reckon they'll go down anyway tbf

They already bought loads of new players at the end of August, didn't help. I have no faith in Warnock (booooo) to find anyone decent, shocking organisation at the back is their biggest problem and that's tough to solve just by buying new players.

Great results for the other two promoted sides, though. Swansea winning at Villa is a victory for football.

Stockdale doing his England claims no harm at all. Amazing double save.

Walcott, not so much. Delivery gets worse instead of better.

Yeah he's had a shocker. Was arguing his case to someone the other day on the basis that he was better than Stewart Downing, may have to make a retraction.

Decent performance from Arsenal so far, have more or less controlled the game, defended well and looked good on the ball. Which probably means the inevitable balls up and embarrassing mistake is not far away.

Coquelin having a really good game so far in particular actually. Has already shown more ability and competence in this match than Clichy did in his last few years at the club.

Squillaci is such a ****ing hack. Prefect header back across his own goal to set up Zamora for the winner.

Lovely finish tho, tbf.
