Top Order:


Sir Hobbs, Ponsford and Barlow are a dream top order combo. Hobbs was one of the 5 cricketers of the century and honestly, not much more needs to be said about him. Barlow is one of the great allrounders that were missed out from the international game due to apartheid. And Ponsford is among Australia's finest test openers and you gotta be good to be called that, given the openers they have had/continue to have.

Middle Order:


Sir Everton Weekes, Stan McCabe and Andy Flower.. Again a dream combination for the middle order. Sir Weekes is one of the all time greats and McCabe was once thought of to be the equal of Bradman. And Flower is one of the modern giants amongst batsmen, and as a leftie, he brings in the much needed variety to the batting line up.

Lower Order Batting:


Bates is a very good batsman, as an average of 27 in the days of uncovered wickets would suggest. This line up is weak on the lower order batting front but with a bowling line up as good as this, it isn't really gonna matter.

Bowling:


Croft, Lillee and Waqar are a dream combination and their achievements are recent enough to not merit being listed again here. Bates and Whitty provided the much needed variety from the fast and furious stuff of these 3 with their offspin and left arm fast medium respectively. And there is always Barlow to call upon.
