I see this series as a no hoper for aussies and can see them gifting away indian their first test series win on aussie soil finally after 63 years

With Johnson,Cummins and Harris out of the series , the bowling is simply toothless and will be massacred by the Indian batsmen who are the best battling line up in the world

The Best chance for them is to prepare dead surfaces and hope Zahir and Ishant break down with their injuries and then try to bat out the 4 games for a draw

Even if they manage to survive india's weakened pace attack, they still have no chance as they are vulnerable to offspin and this man here

will continue harby's legacy, and will cut through like a hot knife through butter and Aussies would do well of they prepare surface that wont offer turn to his carrom balls and arm balls

In fact , I wouldnt be suprised if he ends up getting the bowler of the series or the man of the series award
Totally agree that he'll end up with a similar record to Harby in Australia

Tied series or Aussie win imo. Tie more likely.

I haven't read the thread (so I may have missed talk on the topic) but who do Aussie fans rate more : Cummins or Pattinson? I never got to see Pattinson so am curious.

Cummins is an incredibly talented kid with a dodgy action - hence the injuries

Pattinson is an incredibly talented 21 (?) year old that has overcome a series of injuries but now looks fundamentally very sound

Both are very sharp and, subject to injuries, will be express

Both move it both ways

Both appear reasonably smart in their approach to bowling

If pushed, I'd favour Pattinson because he is more of the finished article

The sides are pretty much equal on paper with India having a stronger batting line up and Australia having a stronger bowling line up. But Australia have the upper hand because of the home advantage.

Imo it comes down to which one struggles more - Aus batting against spin, or India batting against pace.

This is too much!!!

Pure comedy!!! Not saying it won't happen (what you have predicted) but the build up and the picture of R.Ashwin is amazingingly funny.

Troll post. Indian fans are only ever that confident in an ironic fashion, like Turbinator. They much prefer to downplay their side before a series.

Found that more with Eng and Aus, NF. Indians usually have false ideas that their team is going to pwn all comers, or at least that's what I've found.

I'm keeping a lid on it this time. I've noticed, when it comes to a Test series, it's when I don't make a prediction is when India end up winning. :cool2:

India 4 - 0 Australia.. Couldn't resist

I just piled onto India to win the series. Reckon the Indian batting is several leagues above and both sides' bowling is a crapshoot. But the bookies have made Australia big favourites. Doesn't really add up, imo.
India winning the series is the value bet, not doubt, but I still think Australia are rightly warm favourites. The home side's bowling is a fair bit superior in my estimation. If Zaheer goes down early (and the great man seems to be held together with elastaplast and hope nowadays) the Indians are royally screwed.

As amusing as all the Australian fans' furrow brows are, especially to those of us of a certain age who suffered under the Baggy Green yoke for several decades, they're playing a team who haven't beaten them in a test series away from home ever and, as our crim readers of advancing years will doubtless atest, that record includes some less then stellar Australian sides.

Anway, I'm Interested to see Ed Cowan bat. He seems that most old fashioned of things, a first class specialist. His lack of an English county and IPL team on his CV means I've somehow managed to avoid seeing him play a ball in anger.

Oh, and one prediction for the series: at least one article in the Aussie press questioning Ashwin's action.

Interesting squad by the Aussies, had a feeling they would go for an experienced bowler and Hilfenhaus is basically the only fit one left, think he will play ahead of Starc. Cowan is a bit of a gamble as they will have 2 rookie openers in the big event of the year, anything could happen but it would be no surprise if Australia were 20-2 in their first innings.
