Surprised less people are advocating dropping Hussey. This is his 2nd series in a row where he's done NOTHING. At least the others have done something.

I'd drop Ponting, Hughes, Haddin and Khawaja personally.
It wouldn't surprise me if he got dropped before ponting

Congrats NZ. I am glad that our club is full of South Africans and not Kiwi's or this week would be hell. I'm going to have to eat my words at training tomorrow about Warner...I didn't think he was ready for test cricket.

Going to be real pissed if I see any of Haddin, Hughes, Ponting or Starc at the G. Especially since I'll be off work and be able to see their stupidity/lack of ability.

Backing Hughes to be gun eventually, just not now. Starc maybe, got the raw materials and that's about it atm.

Well done to NZ and all but wtf is going on with Australia? just an incredible collapse today when they had the game in their hands, need Watson back pronto because Hughes looks like a walking wicket right now, and if Clark doesn't fire then the middle order suddenly starts to look extremely fragile,

Looking at the big series ahead i'd be a little worried if i was an Aussie fan because although we (WI) had two 100 run leads against India and ran through them in the first innings of the first test their batting is still very tough to deal with, we know from experience that if you collapse against them you're gonna pay for it,

Don't think Lyon will get much out of them either tbh, Pattinson is gonna be vital i think but the bowling unit as a whole lacks experience and that could prove costly.

Looking forward to playing both Aus and NZ next year at home though, should be fun!! :D .

in the absence of anyone else saying it:

can it, ****
awta

there were some silly dismissals, but it was a bowler's pitch for roughly 80% of the match. Not going to see many ***y cricketing shots because of that, and matches on minefield wickets can still be great.

Like this one.

Hurricane's post starts below

Just thought I would make a post on this - in advance of the official tour thread being created.

I think that if Ryder can play and we are at full strength - then I think this will not be a walk over for Australia as it has been in the past.

I think out of a potential top 8 if brownlie plays we can put forward 6 decent batsman - specifically

McCullum
Williamson
Taylor
Ryder
Young
Vettori

From a bowling point of view I think we will be weak. We have Southee and hopefully Martin. Neither of whom is going to run through the Aussies. We also lack a third seamer at the moment.

I am going on record now to say that we will probably lose one - but should get up for a draw in the other - which is an improvement for us.

New Zealand is about two players away from being a useful side - we need another opening bat and we need a strike bowler.
First post of the thread...I thought our batting was going to go great guns and our bowling would struggle. Worked out to be the other way around. What do I know...

I thought Australia would coast to a win......and why the hell is somebody carrying the bat in this kind of a match?

More chance of Danza Hyatt scoring an international 50 than the Windies winning a test match against Aus tbf.
